Our Partners-Patron's
Advisory Council
Input from the community is essential in providing a high quality
education for students of Moore Public Schools. The Board and
administration value participation from parents, students, staff
and other members of the community in carrying out the work of
the school system.
For several years important input has been provided by a committee
comprised of about 100 parents, teachers, administrators, civic
leaders, retired persons and others interested in a strong school
system. This committee, called the Patrons Advisory Committee,
meets on a regular basis to assist the district in planning for
future needs as well as provide input on current issues facing
the district.
Through the years the committee has helped in determining items
that will placed on bond issues. The committee also is instrumental
in ensuring the passage of the bond issues.
In 2001 the committee recommended the largest bond issue in the
history of the school district. The $21.7 million bond issue will
be collected during a two-year period and provide for multi-purpose
buildings at the elementary schools, artificial turf and track
at the high school stadium, transportation items, technology improvements
and other improvement to the district. (For more information about
bond issue projects, please go to Bond
Issue Updates.)
Each school principal names a representative to serve on the
committee. However, anyone can participate in the work of the
committee. Interested persons should contact the Communications
Department or any school principal.
