Preschool Enrollment
Moore Public Schools offers a pilot preschool program
for students who are four years old on or before Sept. 1. Due
to limited space the program is offered only at certain schools.
It includes a half-day session in the morning or afternoon. Class
times correspond to those of the school.
Enrollment is by random drawing and will occur in the
summer. A waiting list
is maintained throughout the school year and parents are notified
when openings occur. For the 2005-2006 school year preschool programs
are available at Apple Creek, Central Elementary, Earlywine, Fairview,
Houchin, Kelley, Kingsgate,
Northmoor, Plaza Towers, Red Oak, Santa Fe and Southgate/Rippetoe
and Wayland Bonds Elementary
Schools.
Students Entering from Non-Accredited Schools
In accordance with state law, students wishing to
enter Moore Public Schools from a non-accredited school will be
tested before they are permitted to enroll. Testing is offered
twice a year, in August for entry the first semester, and in January
for entry the second semester.
Students who have completed grades 9 to 11 will be
tested in all courses of math, science, social studies and English
to determine if credit will be accepted from the non-accredited
school and for grade placement. Students who have completed grades
K through 6 are required to take a standardized achievement test
to determine grade placement.
